WELCOME TO COUSHATTE RECREATION RANCH

Deep in the heartland of Texas, hides an historic ranch that is rich in history and home to some of the best camping sites and sunsets that you have ever seen. 

Welcome to Coushatte Recreation Ranch - nestled between Bellville and Sealy, Texas, Coushatte Ranch was established almost 150 years ago in 1877 where the land was farmed for cotton and its acres used to raise cattle.  Today, the ranch is home to 225 camping sites, loaded with full hook-ups with electrical connections between 30 and 50 amps for RV camping at its finest. 

The Coushatte Ranch got its name after the Coushatte Indians that thrived on this very land long ago. There is even an Indian Mound on the ranch, and it’s not uncommon for visitors to find an arrowhead or two during their stay here.  

Today, Coushatte Recreation Ranch is a great place for a quiet, easy-going, Texas vacation. With acres of sprawling land and friendly staff, it is easy to unwind and find rest and relaxation among family and friends amongst the beautiful Texas countryside. Onsite, you can enjoy camping, hiking, biking, fishing, picnicking, and scenic viewing. 

Nearby, many campers choose to visit Newman's Castle, a great spot for site seeing and just a short drive away in the town of Sealy, you can enjoy an excellent spot for shopping and can look forward to a host of great, local restaurants, giving visitors a chance to sample southern cooking. 

Coushatte Ranch also has three unique halls to host a variety of events - like reunions, birthday parties, club meetings and weddings. All have full kitchens and catering services too. Our facilities have a rich history of being used by the community and we can’t wait to host your next event or celebration.

Here at Coushatte, Bluegrass Music has been a tradition for over 30 years and continues today thanks to the services of Texas Bluegrass Music company. It started out as a small get together for a Saturday night jam session and, back then, it was known as SPRING CREEK BLUEGRASS festival. Yet, today, it has grown to a national show with bluegrass pickers and fans from all over Texas to enjoy.  

Today, the ranch is especially known for its Pickin' & Grinnin' Bluegrass Festival that brings many talented musicians from all over the country to play for a fun-filled three nights of live music, good food, and family fun.
